Our pride and joy, MV MIA, was built in 1965 by Keith Kuskopf as a Brisbane river ferry for the Golden Mile Ferry service. She was originally named Golden Gull and surveyed to carry 84 passengers.
Her hull is made from a rare beautiful yellow timber called Crow's Ash (Australian Teak) which is now very difficult to find in boat building lengths.
In 1988 she was brought down to the Pittwater in NSW to work in the Palm Beach Ferry Service and renamed MV Mia.
MV Mia has recently been renovated without compromising her original charm, and is now surveyed to carry 49 passengers in complete comfort.
She is a "well decker" designed vessel where you walk down three steps into her voluminous interior, and up to her very generous top deck.
With a length of 13.4m and a draft of 1.2m, MV Mia can navigate restrictive areas like Roselle and Blackwattle Bay, Darling Harbour and Cockle Bay, the Lane Cove River, Middle Harbour, or upstream via the Parramatta River to The Armoury at Homebush.
MV Mia is owned, operated, maintained and skippered by Bruce Cam.
From your initial enquiry and throughout your time on-board, Bruce will be looking after you.
It's your cruise so we'll:
* Pick you up and drop you off at any wharf you like.
* Take you anywhere on the harbour you want.
* Make your time on board as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
We look forward to having you aboard!
